3 Little Words....

PASSPORTS ARE HERE!!!!!

12.5 weeks after applying for them, countless time on hold trying to find out where they were (New Hampshire) and they finally showed up 4 days before our trip...If you need them, you better go get an application!

18 days to go...

....and still no passports! Gotta love the government for screwing this up too...you say 10 weeks? then mean it..it's going on 11 and I can't stand the thought that I wasted $250 on getting them done and not being here by the time I leave. Kinda defeats the purpose. So good job government, I don't see gas prices going down either. Sorry, in a mood...It's nearly Thursday and that means Friday is right around the corner...going to the lake this weekend!

Oh where Oh where could it be???

One week and I hope my passports get here on time...hung up on this since I am one of those people who always think..what if this or that happens? Well, if I have to fly into the country, with out a passport, I won't be allowed in...yeah what would happen then? So, I'll keep (trying a bit more patiently) waiting for it! Long time..no blog!

Nothing has happened here lately..just cleaning house and only 33 days left until vacation!!! I only hope my passports show up on time..10 week deadline will be the 11th of May and if they don't get here, I don't know what I'll do. On another note, we celebrate 5 years of being married on May 18th! It's really amazing because these days, I have few friends that have made it past 2 years of being married. Update!

Nothing has really happened here..Friday was the 13th and it wasn't to strange in the psych place (psych ward is what I have nicknamed it!) went to the ever dreaded yearly dr visit, everything fine except for the fatigue I was diagnosed with..can sleep ok until I am woken up then I can't fall back asleep. Went scrapbooking Friday night..completed 2 pages, University of Alabama and a Fall page-If my scanner was bigger, I'd post them. Saturday I worked at the Scrapbook store, there was a birthday party going on all day, great group of ladies that had fun. Sunday, went to Whole Foods on 280-that place is so cool! There is food, spices, etc that you can't find anywhere else and then samples throughout the store..not on a certain day but EVERY day! (wholefoods.com) I don't cook but last night, I grilled (indoors) some fresh shrimp-started out as skewers but then I just figured it would be easier to take them off to turn them and not get burned. It tasted like it came from a restaurant-Garlic and lemon! Looking ahead-I'm babysitting my parent's dachshund, Aubie this weekend-she's 6 months and into EVERYTHING and hopefully catching up of rest and housework! Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Not Much to Say....at all

When you have a husband that works nights, many nights all I do is watch tv..I really have no life except the weekends..This past weekend, we went to Ichiban, one of those places that they cook in front of you...It wasn't the best experience to say the least. We had a group of 12 and the birthday girl had called and made reservations, we were the first to get there, and we had NO reservations..packed out place but we managed to get us on the list quickly and by the time everyone showed up, we got to be seated..so then, it's 7:15, the place was slowing down, people that were seated after us were getting their chefs out there. 45 minutes later, our MEXICAN chef showed up..not exactly the performance we expected (not great) but the food was good. A total of 2 and a half hours were spent on this trip to the restaurant that we probably won't go back to after that experience and for the people that live here..don't you think that place is a little well, dirty??
Easter was ok, Shaun didn't want to go to my old church (my parent's church), so I went alone and then went home and ate lunch by myself because Shaun refused to come pick me up..that too and there were some people I didn't care to see..So honestly, my Easter could have been skipped this year.
Looking forward to Friday night..Scrapbook night! But first I have to get through a dr. appt...why, WHY did I schedule it on Friday the 13th? But you know how drs are-you have to see them once a year to get newly written prescriptions..I have a couple to get and maybe it will be over quick!
In other news, I've been at my new job a month now and I still like it!

The Weekend At Last!!

I finally found some shorts for my trip but still have yet to find shirts other than tank tops. I also bought my first pair of capris..I hate the length of them but found some at American Eagle that are more the sweatshirt type of material-I'm always cold so they'll be fine in the summer. Also, I got everything on sale! I'm going to Ichiban to celebrate my friend Paula's birthday tomorrow night..To answer my last post question, my memory was the year that I got married, I spent Easter at my grandparent's house, the weather was perfect, the entire (small) family was there and I just remember everyone getting along as we ate and hid Easter eggs..that was also the last year the Easter bunny came to see me cause if I was old enough to get married, his job was over! Happy Easter!!

2 More Months!

Exactly 2 months and I will be off to the Caribbean!! Finally got the car paid off-after Compass Bank's refusal to pay over the phone and then the payoff amount changed 3 times before it was done..I thought that when you call for the amount and it says good to this date..It didn't change..but a word of advice..if you don't have Compass Bank, you don't want them..they never posted my payments on time unless I drove the payment to them and they really liked adding late fees when the check was two weeks old and on time! Enough of that, I'm just glad to have an extra few hundred dollars a check now..spending money on the trip and I'll never miss it! So, for the few readers I think I have, I have this question, what is your favorite Spring/Easter memory? My answer will be next time!

But nothing has happened this week except getting burned in the tanning bed..but I am now the color I want to be before this cruise..now about my non-flat stomach..need to start Pilates back and I might be in shape after all! Tomorrow the car is finally paid off and I have $300 of freedom!! (well, after I come up with spending money for the trip!) Have a great weekend ya'll!

Countdown

There are now 5 days until my car is paid off!!!!

Oh yeah, and nothing interesting happened today except I got some house cleaning done!
The following are why I love my car: I have been through 2 wrecks, a concrete barrier on the interstate (didn't cause ANY damage) 2 360's on the interstate (Dead Man's Curve for you Birmingham folks!) and 2 hit garbage cans..again, no damage on those..But I always wanted an Integra (2001) for the year I graduated High School (not really sure why though) and it's the first thing that I have paid for myself..so here are a few pics..I AM the accident waiting to happen!!!

It's been a while

I had such a busy week that I forgot to blog! The dog is much better after a week's worth of medicine. He goes to the vet for a check up tomorrow. I have had a sinus infection thanks to the pollen in the air and everything in bloom..It's pretty but I always have to go through this! I went with my parents and a small church group to the Pita Stop Friday night..It's in Southside and they have the BEST Greek food ever! I got Chicken Kabobs with salad, fresh fruit and hummus dip with pita bread. Saturday I worked at the Scrapbook store (it was a busy day there) and today went to the Gun Show at the Birmingham Civic Center...There were several people that were questionable and I didn't think they should have been there given the fact that they looked like they could kill...it wasn't just small guns...it was military issues there too. Didn't realize they were so expensive. and then the day was topped of by homemade Monterey Shrimp and pasta..Publix did it this afternoon and we decided to get the recipe and make it ourselves..very good. This week should be better..paycheck Friday, payoff the car next week and go buy clothes for the cruise on Saturday!

I hate Mondays

This was a Monday from you know where for me..We had one of those days at work..EVERYONE wants to know why they owe and insurance didn't pay-um...DEDUCTIBLE maybe? It is the beginning of the year..then the drug rep brought some not so great food..turkey, Chicken salad, and pimento cheese sandwiches that didn't taste good at all, and some chicken and rice soup and vegetable soup that i wouldn't touch...THEN, flash back 2 weeks ago, we had to have a new dryer, ours died and then after we got home and unloaded/set it up, I noticed my dog Harley couldn't see out of his left eye and it was bleeding on the side..turns out he had a cyst that he had scratched that caused the bleeding, they did emergency surgery and he was fine...so to today, I get home after eating dinner with my friend Stephanie, get my shower and go to unload the dry clothes and the dog stubles off our 1 stair on the back porch and turns and looke at me-his eye is swollen shut!..so, I rush him to the vet, Shaun nowhere to get ahold of..he's at work but refuses to answer his phone..the vet wasn't sure if it was the dissolvable stitches (that didn't dissolve) that scratched his eye or if it was something they did or even something in the backyard..but they gave him an antibiotic and eye drops and we go back next Monday and hopefully it will be healed by then. Maybe Tuesday will be better....tanning bed and only work. We'll see!

Weekend Recap

Friday night scrapbooking was fun-I got two pages done. Saturday though was the best-My parents, myself and Shaun went to go see the new Wild Hogs movie with John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William Macy and Tim Allen-if you like comedy-it's for you! The funniest move I have seen in a long time. Sunday was the usual go to church, buy groceries and this weekend-install a new faucet in the bathroom sink-2 and a half hours later, it was finished...nothing is ever done quickly around here! Finished off by the best dinner-fried chicken, okra and squash! My arteries are loving that. Tomorrow is another week of work and then dinner at Panera Bread with a girl from my old work.

I have been keeping track of this 11 year old since he was diagnosed with cancer last May. Please pray for him and his mother as she has also been diagnosed with cancer. Every time they get one step forward, it's two steps backward..If interested, please read about him..he's an inspiration just because he is so young and fighting an adult problem.

Nearly Friday!

Well, my week has been decent. Looking forward to lunch with my husband, Shaun tomorrow and then scrapbooking tomorrow night.I got paid today and only have 2 more car payments to go!!! It's been a LONG 5 years with my car...Happy Friday!

Crop this Friday

Clearview Baptist Church in Pinson off of old Springville Road, 6 pm to 11 pm Nothing is required to attend, but we usually bring something for everyone to snack on and there is a Creative Memories Consultant that comes too. My second day of work went well and the drug rep that was supposed to bring us lunch had a sick kid today, so one of the drs. bough us lunch at Zoe's Kitchen instead..I could get used to this!

My New Job

So, I made it through my first day at a new job. I didn't want to leave my old one doing stationery but the hours and pay just weren't cutting it. Not to mention the 45 minute ride to work. I am doing billing at a Dr. office and so far, I like it. The office staff is small but there are nine doctors in the practice. 15 minutes to work, I decide when I come in (as long as I get my 8 hours a day) and the best thing is the drug reps-we get lunch at least once a week and this week is tomorrow! Got a busy week ahead of me-Tanning for my trip Tues and Thursday and Scrapbooking on Friday night and then a free work-less weekend for the both of us!
